Who the hell are The Strokes?
That’s what you could read in some posters for their concerts. When I first got a glance of it, for some reason it struck me [*no pun intended]. I was also struck to find out that The Strokes had a new album released today. This was my favorite track off the album. Their new single, All The Time, was released on Feb 14th. Why did I just find out about this!!?!
For the past 3 weeks all music news sites talked about was Justin Timberlake, not only them actually everyone else too, you and me included. How did The Strokes miss all the buzz? It comes to show how important it is to market your music right, even for one of the biggest rock bands today. If you don’t create a buzz it won’t create itself, and it will be the defining factor for your music’s reach. For me, it’s great to see the impact that a good marketing strategy can have on an artist’s success.
The Strokes - One Way Trigger [NEW]
“We’re no respecter of genre.”
according to the lead man of OneRepublic, “If its a good song or a good artist whether rock, pop, indie or hip hop, they’ve probably influenced us on some level…nothing’s new under the sun, we’re a sum of a bunch of parts.”
OneRepublic’s new album: Native, is set to be released on March 26th (or earlier if you’re ever on the internet). Their lead single ‘Feel Again’ is a total hit.
OneRepublic - If I Lose Myself
Mid-tempo R&B Pop sound that slaps contemporary club-pop right in the face. “You sit back n’ enjoy the light show”
JT is back! Today he released his return debut single, Suit & Tie featuring Jay-Z, which is for his upcoming album: The 20/20 Experience. The song was wonderfully produced by Timbaland (not a surprise), it has a mid-tempo R&B Pop sound that challenges the contemporary club-pop wave.
I’m glad it’s different and unique in sound, that’s what great artist do - they go out on a limb and use their creative genius to change the game while doing what they love to do.
Timberlake: “The inspiration for this really came out of the blue… I just went into the studio and started playing around with some sounds and songs. It was probably the best time I’ve had in my career… Just creating with no rules and/or end goal in mind and really enjoying the process.”

The Shins kinda of Sunday it is
Its that time of the year, daylight is scarce and cold wind blows. I really think this song is a perfect fit for this kinda Sundays. I went vintage shopping today and I’m just suddenly in the mood for some vintage rock (if u will). From the 1996 American band from New Mexico and their latest album Port of Morrow (2012).
The Shins - Mark Stresse
