HIT!
This is a hit song. For some people that isn’t even a good thing. I think it is. I enjoy this track very much, not like I’m going to fall asleep to it or have a chill night…but if I’m working out, pre-graming, partying, this song hits the spot!
It’s not that ground breaking or creative, but it’s still effective. Feel-good lyrics with a good pop up-beat sound that characterizes Derulo. I think we hear many good pop songs like this as much now.
Would love to hear a rap verse somewhere in the song.Hints for a good remix to follow up!
Jason Derulo - The Other Side
For those Fly girls I know
Cris Cab yo. Check this dude out, for real. Modern Reggae-Pop music, mentored by the greatest, Pharrell and Wyclef Jean. This song here is more on the pop side of things, but many of his other records are surprisingly Reggae.
The songs talks about a girl who is So Fly, she’s the perfect 10. We all know at least one of those..I’m I right? “She [gets us] dancing stupid”…”When She cat walks, jaws drop”
Yes we all a girl(s) in mind by now!
Cris Cab feat. Wyclef Jean - She’s So Fly
Bruno Mars ala Bruno Mars
The thing with this song is that it gets to a guy just as much as it can get to a girl. Even though the story is told from a guy’s perspective, there’s a very strong nostalgic vibe of a relationship that was once good and a love which obviously is still there even when the guy is not the girl’s man anymore. The details of the situation are purposely left out so that we can fill them in with our own stories. Because we all have One, you do, and I sure do.
“It’s the most honest, real thing I’ve ever sang,” says Bruno on his interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, “when there are no safe bets, that’s when I feel my blood move.” I don’t think we don’t have enough ballads like this in today’s music.

The Ultimate Throwback #TBT
Is this a classic or what? and what a comeback for JT!! He’s blowing up. I give him and his team all the praise, because of the genius buzz they have created for his fourth album: The 20/20 Experience (1st part of a sequal!).
Did you get a chance to check the album out yet? I did of course. It’s sweet. Very progressive and innovative. On another level basically. The highlights in my opinion where: Mirrors, That Girl and Let The Groove Get In.
Justin Timberlake - Senorita
I want You to Stay!!!
This song is both for the Rihanna fan-club and for the anti-Rihanna’s out there. A totally different sound for the Barbadian super(pop)star. It features Mikky Ekko, who does more than sing (barely) but is also the brains behind this operation having co-written/co-produced the song (mind u Rihanna is not a songwriter).
In case you were wondering, there’s also a video for this beauty: Here U Go
Rihanna ft. Mikky Ekko - Stay
Studies show that it’s healthy to PARTY
Just don’t ask me which studies, but please trust me. I imagine that’s what Pitbull lives by or something. One party banger after another. I certainly don’t love them all, but I have to admit most serve their purpose which is to be a soundtrack for all of our parties.
Even if it’s a guilty pleasure, we all have to admit we’ve partied to a Pitbull song.
Pitbull ft. TJR - Don’t Stop The Party
Just give me a reason, just a little bit’s enough
This song is magic. Very emotional, very deep. The combination of the powerful lyrics with the magical vocal-duo is what makes this song. Originally the song was meant to be just for Pink, but it was her that pursued the duo with Nate (Fun.’s lead singer).
It’s the conversation between them that makes this song so good, their back and forth in dealing with the struggles of their love. We’ve all been there too. You truly love the other person…but life’s complicated, it seems like it will break, but…”just a second we’re not broken just bent”. The mutual connection is so strong, “it’s been written in the scars on our hearts”.
P!nk ft. Nate Reuss - Just Give Me A Reason
Beautiful high voice that will get you feeling high
Ms. Ellie G covers ‘High for This’ by the Canadian singer/producer The Weeknd. She’s a true singer in our days, a modern soprano if you will. She also writes music and plays several instruments. A very young, talented and beautiful pop artist.
Just a nice way to ease the afternoon.
Ellie Goulding - High For This (The Weeknd Cover)
My head is an animal…not always, but most of the times.
So I identify with OMAM’s album title. Very much actually. Can’t put my finger on which animal exactly, but it’s definitely a weird one. It flies and wanders like a bird sometimes, most of the times it also rattles all over the place like a snake, and it never fails to always be a fierce ambitious tiger that will never give up.
Songs like Dirty Paws, keep me sane though. Relaxing, it simmers me down and allows me to step back from reality. The beautiful acoustics and that peaceful enchanting vocals will do the trick. Try it out, no disappointments I promise.
Of Monsters And Men - Dirty Paws
PS: This is a Good post to give a shout-out to a fellow animal-headed friend JAVICHILI, check out (n follow) her artistic, colorful and inspiring blog. (javichili.tumblr.com)

Tell me what you’re waiting for…
Youngblood Hawke (YBH) is a Los Angeles based indie pop band that’s doing some pretty cool stuff. They only really have 4 official songs released, which has given them crazy success. They’re a crazy bunch after all. Very contemporary pop music, yet it’s very unique.
Gotta be on the watch for this one!
Youngblood Hawke - We Come Running
My kinda of funky
Must watch music video from American singer-songwriter Solange Knowles (recognize the last name? if you don’t please leave this blog).
Stylistically I really like this video for some reason, granted that you might not like it. If you know me, you know that I love colors and this video is all about that. Beautiful colors under a sepia tone filter that makes everything look so vintage, hip and funky. This takes place in Cape Town, South Africa.
Now on to the music, a two-man collaboration of major international producers but this thing together. A ‘pharrel’-isc (similar to that of Pharrell Williams, it’s word I just invented) R&B sound, with a hint of electropop. Sounds good to me.
Solange - Losing You
No better way to start the week.
If you ever see/hear something that’s amazing, do you ever think about how it could be even better? More importantly, how can YOU make it even better? It’s an interesting way of seeing things, and it’s nothing short of a success recipe. If you don’t believe me, ask the genius producers and mixers over at RAC, who take any hit song and make it 10x better.

“We’re no respecter of genre.”
according to the lead man of OneRepublic, “If its a good song or a good artist whether rock, pop, indie or hip hop, they’ve probably influenced us on some level…nothing’s new under the sun, we’re a sum of a bunch of parts.”
OneRepublic’s new album: Native, is set to be released on March 26th (or earlier if you’re ever on the internet). Their lead single ‘Feel Again’ is a total hit.
OneRepublic - If I Lose Myself
take note, bitch
I hate it when they kill my vibe, specially if it’s bitches. On the other hand, Lady G and Kendrick kill this song. I love the idea of this collabo and I can imagine how fun it would be to be in studio with this duo…plus Lady G’s singing is on point.
Kendrick Lamar is an essential part of the group of new young emcees, being the main represent for the West Coast in today’s new rap music. Snoop, Game and Dr. Dre crowned him as the “New King of the West Coast” to say the least.
Kendrick Lamar - Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe (ft. Lady Gaga)
This one goes to all of you who live life to the fullest
A sick remix to this 1D hit.
I have to be honest and admit that it took me a good while to actually like (more like respect) One Direction. I don’t like all of their songs, nor am I a 1D crazy groupie. But I respect what they do, and I always say that a good pop song never hurt anyone. They are a record breaking band, reaching the top of UK bands both in the EU and in the US.
That certainly isn’t an easy task, and it takes talent and hard work and dedication - I know that for a fact.
